Gathering Information About the Characters

Dear Comets,

We learned that good readers know that understanding the problems and how the character reacts allow them to gather information about the character.

So today, I would like for you to introduce the book you are reading and share with us the information you have gather about the character in your book.

Words, Words, and More Words

Dearest Comets,

I thought it would be fun to play a game with you on our blog this week.  Here is what we need to do

1.  Read the previous word
2.  Change "ONE" and only one letter to make a new word

All About Shapes

Dearest Comets,

We have wrapped up our Geometry unit and have learned a whole lot.  Just for fun, please tell us what your favorite polygon is.  Don't forget to describe what they look like using the Math Expert Language such as sides, vertices, line segments, etc.  What is real life is made up with that shape?

Can you believe it is already November?!   I love reading your descriptive paragraphs about November and I am so proud of the writers and artists you have become!! <3

Many of you mentioned that November brings friends and family together and reminds us all to give thanks for all of our blessings.  So, the question for this week is... What are you thankful for?  Don't forget to help your readers understand and picture your thoughts by describing who or what it is that you are thankful for and explaining why!

Dearest Comets,

What is your favorite book of all time?  Write a short summary to share with us a little bit about it.  Remember, good readers know how to summarize what they have read by focusing on the important details and write about them in one paragraph.  Try not to give the story away, but rather "hook" others into checking it out for themselves.  You might want to consider using the Herringbone to help organize your thoughts.
