Words, Words, and More Words
Dearest Comets,
I thought it would be fun to play a game with you on our blog this week. Here is what we need to do
1. Read the previous word
2. Change "ONE" and only one letter to make a new word
You can do it as many times as we like and see what we will end up with on Thursday! So the word we will begin with is:
HAT
Looking Forward,

All About Shapes
Dearest Comets,
We have wrapped up our Geometry unit and have learned a whole lot. Just for fun, please tell us what your favorite polygon is. Don't forget to describe what they look like using the Math Expert Language such as sides, vertices, line segments, etc. What is real life is made up with that shape?
Warmly,
Mrs. Nguyen

Give Thanks...
Dearest Comets,
Can you believe it is already November?! I love reading your descriptive paragraphs about November and I am so proud of the writers and artists you have become!! <3
Many of you mentioned that November brings friends and family together and reminds us all to give thanks for all of our blessings. So, the question for this week is... What are you thankful for? Don't forget to help your readers understand and picture your thoughts by describing who or what it is that you are thankful for and explaining why!
Warmly,
Mrs. Nguyen

Previously On...
Dear Comets,
We know that good readers pause to recap or recall what have been read so far to keep track of their thinking. As we are getting ready to move onto Part II of Hugo Cabret, let's "pause and recap!"
I hope you find it helpful using keynotes to record the key elements and organize your thought. I cannot wait to read everyone's responses.
Happy Reading!

Mrs. Nguyen

Keynotes
Dear Comets,
It's been so fun watching you make your keynotes presentation with your partner. Isn't it stupendous that we learned about elements of stories and how to create a keynote presentation all at the same time!
Now, share with us what you like best about making a keynotes presentation.
Love,
Mrs. Nguyen

Book Reviews
Dearest Comets,
What is your favorite book of all time? Write a short summary to share with us a little bit about it. Remember, good readers know how to summarize what they have read by focusing on the important details and write about them in one paragraph. Try not to give the story away, but rather "hook" others into checking it out for themselves. You might want to consider using the Herringbone to help organize your thoughts.
I can't wait to read your responses and add to my Must Read books!
Excitedly,
Mrs. Nguyen
P.S. As always, it is important for all of us to be respectful and responsible in our responses and comments. Happy Reading!

Sibling?
Do you have brothers or sisters? If so, how many? What do you like best about having siblings and what do you not like about it?
If you don't have any, what is the best part of being the only child?
Don't forget... Be specific! Give explanations and examples! Being respectful is a MUST!
Warmly,
Mrs. Nguyen
